　去る12月2日(日）に通訳案内士国家試験の英語第2次試験が行なわれました。受験者の皆様、お疲れ様でした。

試験の実例

［試験開始まで］

受験会場（東京）：昭和女子大学
受験者は、試験会場で受付を済ませた後、指定時間までに指定の待合室へ。
待合室では自由着席。呼び出しを待つ。
時間ごとの大きなグループの中で、さらに3人ずつに分けられている様子。
受験番号と名前で3人ずつ呼び出しがあり、指定の試験室へ誘導され、試験室外で一緒に待機。誘導者が待機用座席に座る順番を指示。
日本人試験官がドアを開けて、 “Come in.” と言って座っている順に1人ずつ入室させる。

［試験開始］

●試験官：2名

　ネイティブ1名（カナダ人女性 = N）と日本人1名（男性 = J）

N: Please put your bag on the table in the back and sit down.

J: What is your name? Where are you from?

A (= 受験者): My name is... I live in ... Ward. The nearest station is ...

N: It’s very close. How to get to Osaka from Tokyo?

A:The Shinkansen Line is the best way to go to Osaka.

N: How long does it take?

A: It takes two and a half hours.

N: It’s very fast. Why are there so many hot springs in Japan?

A: Japan has a lot of volcanoes, and some of them are active volcanoes. That’s why Japan has a lot of hot springs.

N: Who was the last Shogun in Japan?

A: The last Shogun was Tokugawa Yoshinobu, who was the Shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

N: When did he serve as a Shogun?

A: He ruled Japan around the middle of the 19th century.

N: I see. It’s not so long ago. I’m interested in skiing. Where can I go?

A: Japan has a lot of good ski resorts. Hokkaido is the most famous place among foreign people. But, if you go to a ski resort from Tokyo, Niigata, Gunma, and Tochigi Prefectures are convenient. They are close to Tokyo. The nearest ski resort is Yuzawa.

N: How long does it take?

A: It takes about one and a half hours from Tokyo.

N: I see. How do Japanese take a bath?

A: Do you mean a hot spring bath?

N: No, when you take a bath at home.

A: I see. Japanese people usually take a bath together with taking a shower, and before bathing, we wash our bodies lightly by using a shower.

N: I see.

(The two examiners made eye contact.)

N: We’re finished.

(Waiting for the question in Japanese.)

N & J: You’re free.

A: Thank you.
