日本人男性試験官（６０代くらい）、アメリカ人女性試験官（５０歳くらい）

声が小さかったので少しききとりにくかった。

質問内容

（以下、J：日本人試験官、N：ネイティブ試験官、A：受験者）

J: Please put your bag on the desk

A:　Thank you

J: Please have a　seat

A:　Thank you.

N:　Please tell your name.　Where do you live? and Where are you from?

A: My name is ..... I live in Saitama prefecture. I come from Saitama too.

N: I am a tourist and you are my guide. I'll ask some questions　.All right?

A:　Yes, please. Welcome to Japan.

N:(微笑みながら) Please tell me about Japanese climate.

A: Japanese climate---Japan has a clear-cut four seasons, with rainy season between spring and summer. Japanese climate is influenced by geography, winter and summer monsoon, ocean current　and topography.

私は、終わったけど？という顔をしたのですが、二人とも沈黙だったので

A: Do you have any questions?

N: You live in Saitama prefecture. 埼玉はどうですか？

A: Saitama prefecture is along the Pacific Ocean side. So climate is similar to Tokyo.

N: Tokyo?

A: Yes, temperate

N: I see.

日本人もうなずく

N: 東京はどこがお勧め？

A: I would like to take you to Asakusa. This district remains good Old days of Japan.　The main attraction is huge(手で大きさをあらわすようにジェスチャーしながら)Sensoji temple. And another attraction is thunder gate .It is famous for big red lantern, printed KAMINARION that is to say “thunder gate”. This lantern was donated by Panasonnic Founder Matsushita Konosuke. And there is a Nakamise which leads to the Shrine.

There are many small shops along the Nakamise street that carry a variety of things unique to Japan such as folding fan, Japanese swords, of course replica, and （この日のために自分が仲見世で買った、十二単の平安貴族がプリントされているスカーフを指差して）like this scarf.

N: Did you buy it at Asakusa? Oh! By the way, you mentioned Japanese sword. マーシャルアーツを知りたいのだけれど

A: My teacher is Karate martial artist. Karate literally means “empty hand”. It originated from China and brought to Okinawa, and developed as self defense martial arts.

They fight without weapons, they use hands, elbows, and feet.ひとつずつ指差しながら

People are ranked according to their level of skill.

J: ふんふんとうなずいている

A: Beginners wears white sash which shows no dying. And people go up to the “Dan” that is to say expert. They wears black sash which shows continued practice made it jet black.

N: It sounds hard. So please tell me recent trade situation?

A: trade? .......... Japanese yen is high now. So import industry is hard.

N: Import?

A: I’m sorry. “export”. Thank you for your help. I’m so nervous. I got confused.大きくジェスチャーしながらIn and Out

外国人の試験官も一緒に声を合わせてIn and Outと言ってくれました。

N: わたしもときどき間違えるわ. So next... I’d like to go Kamakura, please tell me.

A: Kamakura was a seat of Kamakura military government from 12th to 14th. So there are a lot of historical site. For example, huge statue of Buddha in Kotokuin.

N: I see.みんな言うのよねみたいな感じでした

A: Last week I went to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. It stands on the hillside overlooking Kamakura city. It was built in 12th century on the order of Minamotono Yoritomo,dedicated to Hachiman, war of deity.

日本人もうなずいていて

N: 日本の平均寿命はどのくらいですか？

A: Man is 75, woman is 84.

N: 随分と長生きですね。その秘訣はなにかしら？

A: Japanese diet contributed to the longevity.

日本人が大きくうなずく

A: Japanese traditional diet consists of fish and rice. But today there have been increase in meat and bread consumption. So our longevity ...... will not tell.明らかにおかしいですが、二人ともふーんと言う顔をしていました。

Ｎ：It's finished.

Ａ：？

Ｊ：（日本語で）終わりですよ

A: Thank you.

N: Have a nice day.

試験を終えて

CELからいただいたメールの最後に日本語でも「ありがとうございます。といいましょう」とあったのを思い出して、「ありがとうございました」と心をこめてお礼をいいました。また、終始笑顔、大きなジェスチャーでしっかりアピールしてきました。実は昨日から不安のあまり吐き気がしていたのですが、負けてはいけないと思って、まずはスタッフの方々にひとりずつ「こんにちは」と笑顔でご挨拶をして、受付の際には「こんにちは、よろしくおねがいいたします」と満面の笑顔でご挨拶をしました。元気に振舞うことで自分のテンションをあげたかったのと、笑顔で挨拶をすると自分のほうにいい「気」をみんなが送ってくれると信じているからです。
