試験の様子
本番13:50より。試験官は女性2人(30代くらいの外国人でにこにこと優しそうな方、40代くらい日本人)。最初の自己紹介を促す発言、締めの発言以外はすべて外国人が質問してきた。
質問内容
(以下、J:日本人試験官、N:ネイティブ試験官、A:受験者)
A: Hello.
J, N: Hello.
J: Please put your bag on the table.
A: Thank you.
J: Please sit down.
A: Thank you.
J: Please tell us your name and where you live in.
A: My name is ... and I live in ... But today I came here from Saitama prefecture where my parents live, because they are taking care of my son who is one and a half years old.(両試験官ともにこやかに笑ってくれる。)
N: In winter how is weather like in Hokkaido and Okinawa?
A: In winter Hokkaido is very cold and there is a lot of snow. However, Okinawa is hot comparing with Hokkaido.
N: In winter where is your recommendation to go in Japan?
A: I recommend onsen, hot spring bath. In Japan there are many hot spring baths, like Hakone. Also we can enjoy food.
N: What kind of food do you eat there?
A: I eat Japanese food like fish and Nabe. Many types of vegetables are cooked in the pot. It makes us warm.
N: In Japan how many writing systems are there?
A: There are three characters. Kanji, Chinese characters and Hiragana and katakana. Katakana is used to show...(かなり間が空いて) western things like Macdonardo.
N: How are they originated?
A: Kanji came from China and Hiragana were originated in Japan. In my memory they were created in the Heian Period.
N: How do you use these three systems?
A: Names are written in Kanji. And when I write for adults, I use Kanji. When I write for children, I may use Hiragana in order to... (言い直して) in order that they can read them.
N: How was Japan modernized after the Meiji era?
A: Modernized? ... Uhhh... Many buildings were constructed in Tokyo. And... Uhhhh... (かなりの間。何も思いつかない。) And a computer, like a personal computer, is privailing. (「それで?まだあるでしょ?」と言いたげにNがじっと見つめるが返答をギブアップ)
N: OK. thank you.
J: That’s all. Thank you.
A: Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.(一礼して退室。)
試験を終えて
受験生は男女とも9割方スーツなどのびしっとした正装だった。もっと女性が多いと思っていたが、ビジネスマン風の男性(40代~60)が半分くらいを占めていたのが驚きだった。
