(誘導係に指示されて、扉を開けて試験室に入ると、試験官2人は話中だったので)

A: May I come in?

J: Yes, please. Please have a seat.

A: Thank you.

J: Firstly, please tell us your name and where you live.

A: My name is ... I live in ... in Tokyo. ... is in the most eastern ward in Tokyo.

N: Why are Tokyo and cities around Tokyo dry in winter?

A: It's related to the wind from northern countries from Japan. The wind flows from the north..... Japan has mountains in .... there are mountains in Japan like a backbone of human beings. The wind flows and hits the mountains. The west side of Japan has ... a lot of heavy snowfall. Then, the wind without moisture flows down in to the east side of Japan. That's why Tokyo and cities around Japan are dry in winter.

N: What kinds of statues are there in Buddhism?(正確な英語の質問は覚えていないが、仏像の種類を聞かれた。一難去ってまた一難、と言った感じだった。)

A: There are a lot of statues... in Buddhism... The most famous statues are statues of Buddha in Kamakura and Todaiji temple in Nara. Especially, the statue of Buddha in Kamakura sits outside. In old times, it sat inside of the building in the temple, but tidal wave threw out the building and since then it sat ouside.

N: I see, then what kinds of statue are there? Anything else?

A: The kinds..... Amidanyorai.....what's else....Amidabutsu...

N: What's the role of the statues?

A: The statue helps people from difficulties....ah, there is a Yakushinyorai. It has a pot of medicine in his hand and it is related to medicine. It helps sick people.

N: Which store or shop do you recommend to buy electrical goods in Akihabara?

A: I definitely recommend LAOX, because it has a lot of electrical devices and appliances. It's a duty free shop. And it has a lot of staff who can speak English, not only English but various languages. So, it is easy to find what you want there.

N: What else can I buy in Akihabara?

A: You can buy goods related to Anime, Manga. A few years ago, a TV drama about Manga and Akihabara got popular in Japan.

N: Where should I go in Tokyo except Akihabara?

A: If you like to see a historical thing, I recommend Sensoji. The most attractive thing in Sensoji is its big red lantern, It is hung on the front gate. From the gate to the main building in the temple, there are a lot of souvenir shops, I think about 200 shops. You can buy souvenirs about traditional things and customary things.
