試験の様子

１４:１５集合、１５:１５移動、1５：２0本番開始。

試験官は、白人男性（５0代）、日本人女性（50代？）の2名。

質問内容

（以下、J：日本人試験官、N：ネイティブ試験官、A：受験者）

A: （ドアをノックして）Good morning.

J: Good morning. Have a seat. What is your name?

A: My name is ...

J: Where do you live?

A: I live in Itabasi. It is located to the northwestern part of Saitama. And it is very close to downtown Tokyo.

J: I see.

N: Let me ask you a few questions about Japan. I’m a tourist from Australia. Suppose I am a young woman who want to go to Tanabata-maturi. What advice would you give?

A: I’d recommend you wear yukata, a casual kimono.

You also carry kinchaku, a cloth porch and a uchiwa, a fan. Now you are ready to go to Tanabata-maturi.

N: I come to Japan for the first time. I'd like to have a meal. What place would you recommend?

A: How about going to Kaitennzusi ? （ＣＥＬの回転寿司の説明をほぼそのまま。） Or you can also go to Izakaya. （ＣＥＬの居酒屋の説明をほぼそのまま。） At Izakaya, you may have an opportunity to rub elbows with the locals. It Is possible that they speak to you, because Japanese people are not only shy but also curious. When they speak silly sentences like "This Is a pen," please don't interpret them literally. It means that " I can speak some English and I'd like to associate with you."

N: Now, would you tell me the difference between shoji and fusuma?

N: What place do you recommend to visit In Tokyo?

A: There are three places which I'd like you to visit: Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower and Asakusa. Imperial Palace Is, In a sense, the center of Japan. It was once Edojo Castle, the headquarter of Tokugawa Shogunate. After the Meiji Restoration

It has been the residence of the Emperor. At Tokyo Tower you can see the whole view of Tokyo. If you are lucky you can see Mt.Fuji from there. Asakusa is the town where you can feel the daily life of ordinary people.

N: O.K. I'd like to go shopping. Where should I go?

A: If you 'd like to buy PCs or the peripherals, you should go to Akihabara. You can find a variety of PCs there. If you'd like other merchandise, how about go to Okatimachi. (ココでアメ横の名前をどわすれました。) I'm sorry, but forget the name of the shopping mall, but if you go to Okachimachi, you can't miss it. You can find a variety of goods from raw fish to golf clubs.

J: O.K. Thank you very much. （ここでJが会釈で試験終了の合図。）

A: Thank you very much. I enjoyed talking with you very much.（部屋を出るとき会釈して「ありがとうございました。失礼します」と述べた。）

試験を終えて

全てネイティブからの質問でした。日本人女性の試験管は全く質問をせずやりとりを聞いていました。質問はＣＥＬの授業でやったものばかりでしたので慌てずに済みました。ご助言頂いた様に服装もスーツにワイシャツでこざっぱりするように心がけました。居酒屋の下りではジェスチャーも交え日本人試験管も笑ってくださいました。
