Shibusawa Eiichi was active in the Meiji period. He was born to a rich farmer’s family in Saitama prefecture. He served the last shogun of the Edo period, which was about 150 years ago. He was sent to World Expo in France and he learned a lot about Western technologies and businesses. Then he went back to Japan and laid a foundation of modern Japanese business. It was after drastic political and economical change.

そばは細く長く人々は大晦日に長寿を願ってそばを食べます。夜中にたいてい食べますが、夕食時に食べる人もいます。店にはたくさんのそばがえびの天ぷらなどとともに売られ 大晦日の風物詩です。

Soba are thin and long buckwheat noodles. People eat soba on New Year`s Eve praying for long life like thin and long soba noodles. Most people eat soba late at night（in the midnight と言ったかもしれません。間違い？）, however, some people eat soba at dinner time.
(10) situationの内容
4人の観光客を案内している。そのうちの一人がそばうちを見ていて食べて見たいと言い出した。しかし、もう一人はそばアレルギーがあるが、実際そばを食べていないのでどの程度かわからない。このような状況であなたはどう対応するか。

私）Mr. A, you would like to eat authentic soba. Mr. B, you have buckwheat allergy. Do you know how serious it is?
試）No, I don’t. I haven’t eaten buckwheat noodles.
私）Then, How about eating it just a little? (ここで間違っている事に気がつきました。)
Oh, sorry. May I suggest some alternatives? I recommend you eat rice or udon noodles. You can have udon noodles at the same shop as soba’s. What do you think?
試）Really? I remembered I have peanuts allergy too.
私）OK. Udon doesn’t contain both peanuts and soba.
試）Then, can I eat udon?
私）Yes, I think so.

一旦教室前のいすに座って待機後 大ホールに移動 17時頃解散
(14) 全体を通しての感想など
1. ロールプレイでうどんかごはんをおすすめしたけど、よくよく考えてみるとうどんとそばを同じお湯でゆでる店もあるので、そばの成分がうどんに染み込むかもしれません。
2. 試験官が妙にあっさりとうどんを食べてもいいのかと聞いたのも気になります。
3. 渋沢栄一は前日の模擬面接で練習したテーマでした。
