受講生21（１） ９：１５登録、９：２０ー１０：２０待ち合わせ室で待機。飲み物はOKなるも、飴等口に入れるものは一切禁止。参考資料を見るのはOK。番号ごとに７組に分かれており１組より９：４０頃から五月雨式に別室に案内されて行った。自分は最後の７組目で１０：２０頃呼ばれ８人位の行列の先頭で面接室に導かれ、初めの面接室の前で座って待つように云われ１５分強待つ。６分位たったところで前の面接を受けていた中年の男性がでてきたがなかなか呼ばれずちょっと焦る。Ｊがドアを半開きにして顔を出し、「お待たせしました、どうぞ。」 中に入ると面接官2人の座る机が約４メートル先の遠くにあり、壁沿いの椅子に荷物を置いて、 真中の椅子に座るようＪに日本語で云われて戸惑う。 （２） Ｊは４０才前後の男性、 Ｎは米国かカナダの60才位の紳士 （３） Ｊより番号と名前を日本語で言うように云われて答える。 （４） Warm Upはなく、すぐにＪが日本文を読みあげますので英訳してくださいと。内容は「日本は周りを海で囲まれています。4つ？の火山帯があります。川は狭くゆえに急流です川が海に流れ込むところには平野が広がっています。 」 （５） Japan is surrounded by oceans. There are 4 volcano belts. The rivers are narrow therefore the current is very fast. Where the river flows into the ocean, there is a plain. （６） A. 旅館について B.浮世絵について C. 東京の他の日本の都市との違いについて （７） 旅館について （８） I would like to talk about a typical Japanese inn. It is more expensive than a minnshuku or a pension but you could experience a traditional japanese way of living. The price includes dinner and breakfast. The rooms have a tatami mat and paper sliding doors called shouji and fusuma. You are to sleep on the tatami mat. An employee will come to your room to lay out a futon cushion(bed) on the tatami and in the morning, the employee will come to put the futon back into the closet. There is a big japanese style bath away from your room so you could enjoy and relax in the nice hot water of the big bath. （９）ここでＮが日本の風呂に入るのにはいくつかのルールがあると聞いているがそれは何ですかと質問。 Ａ answer- there is a separated washing area so you need to lightly wash your body before getting in the bath tub. Don't jump in the bath and swimming is prohibited. Swim suits are not allowed. Ｎ question- I am interested in visiting a hot spring. Would you recommend a good hot spring near Tokyo where I could spend 1night 2 days. Ａ answer- I would recommend you to go to Hakone. Beside hot springs you could have a very nice view of Mt. Fuji if it's a fine day. Ｎ What season is best to have a good view of Mt. Fuji? Ａ You could have more chance to have a nice view when it's cold, so probably winter is the best time. Ｎ What else does Hakone have? Ａ Ashinoko lake and oowaku dani where hot steam is flushing out. Ｎ Thank you for all the information. と言ってＪに終わりを促す感じであった。 （１０） 日本語での質疑はNIL. （１１） 試験後のやり取りもNIL. （１２） Thank you very much. ありがとうございました、失礼しますとそれぞれに挨拶して退出。 外にいた係りの方が約４０M離れた廊下の突き当たりの椅子に座って待つように指示され、行くと７組のほとんどの面接者がすでに座って待っていました。暫くして１階下の階の別の大きな待合室に案内され、机の上に置かれていた「お知らせと注意事項」を読んで全員が集まるのを待って、１１：１０過ぎ頃解散。 （１３） 面接でのＪもＮもとても感じの良い方でしたが連携がちょっと悪いように思え、一部戸惑いました。入室したところから通訳の日本文を読むところまでは全てＪが日本語で対応、Ｎの存在は無いがごときで想定外でした。英訳からＮとのeye contactも始まり、以降は英語でのＮだけとのやり取りでＪの出番がなくなって終わってしまったとの印象で |
