通訳ガイド(通訳案内士)2次試験レポート

(1)試験会場到着から試験室入室までの手順
google map の道順で行ったら、マイナーな門に辿り着き(しかも工事中)、慌てて「〇〇大学 正門」で再検索。15分のロス。(本日痛恨のミス1)
15：30-15：55 受付の有る6階へエレベーターで移動。（ここで、受験票を忘れたことに気付き、再発行の手続き後、受付した。本日痛恨のミス2）
受付後、受付脇の講堂に番順に着席。
黒板の注意事項：通信機器の使用は×。電子を含む辞書は使用可。ドリンクのみ可。トイレに行くときは挙手して係員が同行。
16：20 1の番号を呼ばれた人（含 自分。10人ぐらいの単位）がフロアー下の階に移動。教室で着席して待つ。
16：25 グループ単位で呼ばれて席を立ち、面接部屋に移動。
各部屋の前に椅子が2席（待つ人用）あり、一人ずつ各部屋の前に配置される。
係の人から、「間も無く中の試験官から指示があるので、ここで着席してお待ちください。」と指示有り。
16：30. 時間通りに、日本人のアシスタントの方がドアを開けてくださり、 英語で説明を受けた。教室には
J:「Please put your bag on a chair and take the seat next」
そのあと日本語で、通訳についての説明がありました。
J:「これから私が日本語で話す文章を聞いて英語に訳してください。横に筆記用具があるので、メモを取っていただいて構いません。通訳は1分程度でお願いします。」
この説明の途中で、バインダーとペンを手に取って、「スタンバイOK」ポーズを取っていたら、
J:「あっ、はい、そちらですね」
何と無く、「ふふっ」という２人の心の笑い声を感じる私。
そのあとすぐに日本語が始まりました。
(2) 試験官の性別、推定年齢、（外国人面接官はアクセントから判断して）国籍
N: 北米系の40-50代くらいの男性。ただ、体格が大きかったので、年齢不詳にも見えました。カンフーパンダに似ていました。
JP: 30-40代の素敵な女性。最初から最後までとても優しく、こちらが話しているときも終始笑顔で聞いてくださいました。
(3) 自己紹介等のウオーミングアップのやり取り
J: 「What is your name?」
A: 「My name is _______.」
誕生日・現住所(都道府県)も聞かれたので、ゆっくりはっきり答えました。
(4) 通訳の日本文
水戸の偕楽園は、金沢の兼六園、広島の後楽園と並ぶ、日本三大名園の１つです。
偕楽園は、水戸藩主 徳川斉昭が1842年に設立しました。偕楽園内に好文亭を作り、庶民との交流を楽しみました。
(5) 英語訳の再現
Kairaku-en is a Japanese traditional and famous park in Mito, as well as Kenroku-en in Kanazawa, Ishikawa and Koraku-en, Hiroshima. They are called as "the 3 most famous parks in Japan"
Kairaku-en was established by a feudal lord in Mito, Tokugawa Nariaki in 1842.
In order to communicate with his commoners, he built the special facility within this park.

I would like to talk about "Shichi-Go-San" ceremony in Japan.
Literally "七五三" means, "Seven-Five-Three", that is a Japanese traditional family event to celebrate the growth of their children at the age of 3, 5 and 7.
Many of these families go to a shrine in October or November. Because the actual celebration day is November 15, they choose their preferable date near November 15.
Many of the children are dressed up with Kimono, Japanese traditional clothes and some of the parents wear Kimono, too.
They usually take a professional family photo for the memory.
After that, they hold a family party at a nice restaurant or invite grand parents and relatives for the party at home.
I was lucky to have a good experience of the ceremonies for my two sons with Kimono. I also wore Kimono.

N: Why do they celebrate "七五三"?
A: In old days, the Japanese age-counting system was different from the current one. Not the ages of 3-5-7 but actually 2-4-6. Also at that time, the medical technology was not good, so these ages' kids tended to get a big disease. So, in order to celebrate their growth and pray for their future prosperity, Japanese people celebrate the event.
【Q2】
N: I understand children wear Kimono. But do their parents buy these Kimono for them every time?
A: Yes, some of "kid-friendly" parents buy Kimono for their children at each time. But many parents rent a Kimono set, even shoes. But I didn't. Luckily, my parents bought the ones for our sons. I was also lucky because my parents bought my Kimono, too. HAHAHA.

N: What do they do in a shrine?
A: We go to the main building of the shrine and pray for their children's future success. But you need the application first. You need to fill in the application form with your name, child name, age and address clearly. This is very important. Without the information of name and address, the deities of the shrine cannot recognize you and your children, when the shrine priest is wishing for you.
So, don't forget!!!'

(13) 全体を通しての感想など
最後まで二人ともとても親切で、始終笑顔が絶えない面接でした。私のプレゼンに「ほう」という感じでメモを取っていたようでした。(採点かな？)
ただ、２年間も勉強したのに、2次面接で「七五三」という簡単なお題にしてしまった自分が恥ずかしいと、思ってしまいました。取り敢えず、合格したら、お伊勢参りの御陰参りに行こうと、心に決めた次第です。
最後に、余り緊張もせずに面接出来たのは、CELプレ面接とモック面接(発表前２回、発表後２回、計４回)の賜物です。ありがとうございます！
