J: Good morning. Please, put your bag on that chair.

A: Thank you.

J: Have a seat.

A: Thank you very much.

J: What is your name, and where are you from?

A: My name is ………. I am from ……...

J: I see.

N: Please, tell me about history of Hiraizumi.

A: Hiraizumi? Oh, I went there a few months ago! Hiraizumi used to be the centre of a noble clan called the Fujiwara clan. They wanted to make there land like the Buddhist Pure Land. On the basis of this idea, they built Chusonji Temple which include the Golden Pavilion, Motsuji Temple and other places that represent the Buddhist Pure Land. These places were designated as a World Heritage site this year.

N: What is your favorite shrine?

A: In Hiraizumi, or in general?

N: In general.

A: My favorite shrine…Well, I often visit Meiji Shrine in Shibuya, because, first of all, it is not far from my house, and secondly it is located in a huge park with a lot of trees, so I can enjoy both the shrine and nature. と思いながら質問を聞いていたため、もしかしたら“What is your favorite shrine or temple?”

N: If you were a tour guide and you were taking foreigners for one day tour out of Tokyo, where would you take them?

A: I would like to recommend Kamakura, because Kamakura used to be the seat of the Kamakura Shogunate which was the first samurai government. Also the Kamakura Shogunate supported the Zen Buddhism, so there are many old temples.
The must-see places are, first of all, Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine which was the guardian god of the Kamakura Shogunate, and also the Great Statue of Buddha in Kotokuin Temple. To visit Kotokuin Temple, you need to ride on Enoden train which is the old-fashion train. Enoden runs by the sea, so you can enjoy a very good view of ocean from the train. If I can add one more place, I'd like to recommend Hokokuji Temple. It is a small temple in a bamboo forest and very beautiful. There, you can have matcha powdered green tea at a small amount of money.

N: Why Japan's railroad system so extensive?

A: First of all, in big cities like Tokyo, roads are very congested, so traveling by car is not reliable. On the other had Japan's trains are so punctual. Secondly, Japan is a long country(これは必要なかったかもしれない), but at the same time cities are close together(mainly in flat lands と言いたかったのですが、言い忘れてしまいました), so traveling by trains are very convenient. It is also possible to travel by airplanes, but usually airports are quite far from the center and not very convenient. I think because of these reasons, Japan's railroad system is extensive.

N: OK. This is the end of the exam.

A: Thank you very much.

A: ( もう一度ドアの所で)Thank you very much. Good bye.

N: Thank you, dear.
