試験の様子
13：00集合、14:00移動、14：50本番開始。試験官は、欧米風女性（30代後半）、日本人男性（50代？）の2名。とにかく集合から試験開始までの待ち時間が長く、緊張感がかなり高まりました。
質問内容
A: （ドアをノックして、荷物はすべて持って入る）Good after noon.
J: Good afternoon. Have a seat. What is your name?
A: My name is ...
J: Where do you live?
A: I live in ... ... is located next to Tokyo, south of Tokyo.
J: I see.
N: （ここから外国の方と話す）I am a foreign traveler. Let me ask you a few questions about Japan. What do Japanese people commonly do in ordinary life, which is originally from foreign country.
A: Japanese people celebrate Christmas at Christmas Eve. They prepare round Christmas cake（丸いというジェスチャー）, fried chicken and other foreign foods. And enjoy Christmas Eve. But it is conducted regardless of deep religious belief.
（今考えれば日常のことを聞いていたのかもしれません）
N: I see. Did you celebrate Christmas?
A: Yes I celebrated Christmas last year. And set Christmas tree（木の形のジェスチャー） and bought Christmas cake and fried Chicken. And I enjoyed Christmas Eve with my girl friend.
N: Oh, I see (笑いながら). How long have Japanese people celebrated Christmas Eve?
A: I am not sure exactly…but after World war Ⅱ, Christmas custom became…so I think it is 40 or 50years.
N: Oh, so it is not long time ago?
A: Yes, it is not a long time, recent custom.
N: OK next question, do you like Sumo?
A: Actually I am not a big Sumo fan. (迷いましたが、それほど相撲は詳しくないので、遠回しな否定で正直に答えました。)
N: Ok, we should skip this question, but what grand champion do you like the most?
A: I like Chiyonofuji. Previously he won the most grand sumo tournaments. He does not have big body but with his excellent technic and skill of fighting, when I was child, almost no Sumo wrestler could beat him. He is a really strongest Japanese Sumo wrestler.
N: Ok, thanks, so next question, what is Japan's topography like?
A: Japan is surrounded by sea, and two-third of land in Japan is mountainous. So if we go to some places from Tokyo, we need to pass through at least one mountain usually. And Japan's four seasons are distinct. So foreign tourists can enjoy each season of Japan. Spring, summer, autumn and winter, each season has each attraction.
N: O.K. I see. That is the final question of this interview test. I heard that many Japanese could not speak English. Why can't they speak English well?
A: Many Japanese people cannot speak English because Japanese education put too much emphasis on grammar part not oral communication. So if they have more opportunity to practice English more, around them, many foreign people, Japanese should be able to speak English more. Actually in their minds, there are English vocabulary and knowledge.
N: Do you have any chance to use English in everyday life?
A: Yes, now I work in an importing company. So I use English everyday by E-mail to communicate with a company in foreign countries.
N: OK, I see, thank you.
J: それでは最後に日本語で、ガイドになったとき、どのような点に注意して、外国人観光客に接しますか。
N: （一瞬何も思いつかなかったが）自分がガイドになった場合、外国からのお客さんは文化の違いなど、いろいろな点で苦労すると思いますので、注意事項や文化の違いを早めに知らせ、快適に日本で観光できるようにアドバイスしたいと思います。また、これからもっと勉強しなければならないのですが、日本の文化と歴史をこれからも勉強して、過去の日本と現在の日本を結びつけ、面白く日本を案内できるようなガイドになりたいと考えております。
J: それではこれで口述試験は終わりです。お疲れ様でした。
N: Thank you very much. ありがとうございました。（席を立ち，退室前に例をして試験室を後にする）
試験を終えて
試験開始までは緊張感が高まっていましたが、実際の試験では比較的落ち着いて、アイコンタクト、笑顔やジェスチャーなどCELのインテンシヴの授業で注意された、もしくは重要とされる事項はまずまずできたと思います。自分は本番で緊張するタイプだと認識していましたので、CELの二次対策授業はインセンティブの授業が役に立ちました、CELのアドバイスや先輩ガイドさんたちの１次試験後すぐに２次試験に取り掛かるべきというアドバイスを実行して正解だったと感じました。緊張のためか、いくつかは文法ミスなどもあり、思い起こせばこう言ったほうが良かったと思う点はいくつかありますが、気まずい雰囲気などなくスムーズに応答ができました。これも江口先生の日本事情での知識やIntensiveの授業でのダン先生をはじめとする先生方の指導のおかげだと実感しています。通訳案内士試験の学校としてCELを選んで本当に良かったと思います、ありがとうございました。
